Achuth Shenoy

Consultant physician and gastroenterologist

Dr Shenoy joined Colchester Hospital in 2008 and specialises in inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancer, endoscopy, liver disease, nutrition and medical education.

Dr Shenoy qualified from Mangalore University in India in 1989 and completed further training at Bangalore University before undertaking postgraduate training in the UK. His professional qualifications include Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) awarded in India, and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London (FRCP). He also holds a Diploma in Medical Education (Cardiff University) and is an honorary senior lecturer at the Queen Mary University in London. He is also the principal investigator for several research projects led by the National Institute of Health Research.

Outside of work, Dr Shenoy enjoys playing badminton and an Indian musical instrument called the Tabla, as well as collecting stamps and coins.
